About Dr. Leslie Kernisan & Helping Older Parents

Leslie Kernisan, MD MPH, is a board-certified geriatrician who believes it should be easier for families to help their aging loved ones have the best possible health and quality of life. She is the author of “When Your Aging Parent Needs Help: A Geriatrician’s Step-by-Step Guide to Memory Loss, Resistance, Safety.”

Through her Helping Older Parents articles and trainings, she teaches families how to address common caregiving concerns and dilemmas. She also runs online group coaching programs, in which she answers questions and talks to families about the best ways to handle their aging parent challenges.

Dr. Kernisan completed her internal medicine and geriatrics training at the University of California San Francisco, where she also studied healthcare quality improvement. She is a proud graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and Princeton University.
